Terms and conditions
Before placing an order, please carefully read our terms and conditions of purchase, as they are subject to change. By confirming your purchase, you agree to these terms. Your purchase is confirmed when you receive a confirmation email. Ensure that all the information you provide, such as your name, email, and postal address, is accurate. Note that individuals under 18 years of age require parental consent.
Orders
Our webshop at m-kae.com is open 24 hours a day, but it may be closed for maintenance. Of course, we aim to perform such maintenance services during the night.
If you place an order during weekends or Danish public holidays, your order will be processed on the following business day.
We will only accept your order if your payment details are correct and if we have no reason to believe that you do not comply with the requirements of our Terms and Conditions. We reserve the right to cancel your order, without being liable for compensation or other costs, in the following situations:
- If your payment details are incorrect or cannot be verified
- If there’s an error on the website, such as payment error, etc.
- If we have reason to believe that you are under the age of 18 or your order is placed with the purpose of committing fraud, etc., or placed in connection with a criminal offense or other unlawful activities.
We reserve the right to cancel your order or part of your order if an item is out of stock. If your order consists of more than the canceled item, the remaining order will be sent.
Prices & payment
All prices are stated including Danish VAT and other Danish taxes/duties. The applicable price is the one stated in respect of the relevant item on the date of placing the order. Your payment will be charged to the payment method you have selected when your order leaves our warehouse for delivery.
All prices quoted on the website for items, delivery, and other costs include VAT and other taxes/duties. Costs relating to delivery, freight, and postage may vary for each order. Delivery costs will be indicated on a separate line in your shopping cart and on the billing page, as part of the total amount of payment.
M-KAE reserve the right to amend prices, fees, and/or other costs stated on at any time, e.g. due to changes in VAT-rates or other public fees and charges, increase in cost levels, or as a result of the usual development in retail prices.
If the destination country is outside the EU, any customs or import duties charged once the order reaches its destination country must be paid by the recipient of the order. We often have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country. You may want to contact your local customs office for further information. Customers from the following non-EU countries do not pay duties and taxes when shopping with us: Norway and the United Kingdom.
Payment options
At M-KAE, we strive to offer a secure payment experience for our customers. We use Shopify's payment processing system to ensure that your transactions are handled with the highest level of security and efficiency. We accept a variety of payment methods for your convenience.
Products and their delivery costs are paid at the checkout of our online store in connection with the order. You can select your preferred payment method from the following options:
Credit Card and Visa
You can pay with the following credit cards: Visa, Visa Debit, MasterCard, American Express, Maestro, Union Pay. We use international Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode and American Express SafeKey authentication services. The checkout will appear as the payee on your card statement, and it forwards the payment made by the customer directly to the merchant. Card payments are made securely using a secure payment form and payment card information is not stored in e-commerce systems.
Klarna & Anyday
With Klarna & Anyday you can buy now but pay later. When you pay with a Klarna or Anyday, an invoice for your purchases will be emailed to you. The payment period is 30 days - so you will receive the products you have ordered before you need to pay for them. You do not need to provide your debit card information. Klarna &Anyday is accepted in all Eurozone countries.
Ekstra payment options
You can also use Shop Pay, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and MobilePay to complete your transactions. Each payment method is processed securely to ensure the protection of your financial information. When using these payment methods, please ensure that your payment information is accurate and up-to-date. If you encounter any issues during the payment process or if you have any questions about your transaction, please contact our customer service team for assistance.
Returns & refunds
All items can be returned within 14 days of receiving the order. Your returned items must be in the original condition, unworn, unused, with labels attached and sent back in their original packaging. Worn pieces will not be accepted for return. Please make sure to keep the receipt in case the package gets lost on its way back to our warehouse.
We aim to process your refund within 10 days of receiving the returned package to our warehouse. The refund will be processed back to the credit card used at the time of purchase. Please note that it may take 7-10 business days for your bank or credit card provider to complete the transaction. Thank you for your patience during this process.
Return fee
The return cost will be the same amount as the original shipping fee paid when the order was placed.

Shipping costs for returned orders in Denmark and within the EU are refunded, provided that standard shipping was chosen. For orders outside the EU, the initial shipping cost is non-refundable.
If only part of an order is returned, the original shipping cost will not be refunded, as some items from the order are still being kept. In such cases, only the price of the returned item(s) will be refunded.
Gift cards are non-refundable. Please note that any customs or import duties are not refundable.
Unclaimed parcels
Please note that uncollected shipments will not be considered as returns. If you do not collect your parcel, the package will be returned to us. Please be aware that a fee of €15 will be charged to cover the handling costs for any uncollected orders.
Exchanging
Unfortunately we do not offer direct exchanges. If you wish to change your purchase to a different size, color, or style, please return the item and place a new order through our webshop. We are always here to assist you if you have any questions along the way.
Furthermore, you can return or exchange your online purchase in our store - M-KAE studio in Copenhagen.
Faulty items
When we ship your products, we do our best to make sure that the products are of top quality and in perfect condition. If you receive a damaged or defective item, please notify us within 7 days of receiving your order. Contact us at hello@m-kae.com with your order number and clear photos of the issue.
Please note that pilling is typically not considered a reason for a reclamation, as it is a natural effect caused by the wear of wool.
Claims
If your item is defective, the rules on defects set out in the Danish Sale of Goods Act apply. M-KAE reserves the right to reject complaints on items which have not been handled correctly and according to instructions. Especially styles with sewn-on parts such as buttons should be treated with great care, including knit and silk items. It is not considered to be a claim if the fit, material, color, or quality of the item do not live up to your expectations. Please contact us if you have any questions in this regard.
There is a deadline of 2 years for complaints, and as a consumer you must therefore submit a complaint within 2 years of delivery of the order, i.e. the time when the consumer has obtained possession of the items. If you do not comply with this deadline, your right to complain will expire, unless we have provided an extended guarantee for the item.
If you as a consumer want to complain about your purchase, please contact os på hello@m-kae.com. If you are dissatisfied with our handling of your problem with an item, you can submit a complaint to Center for Klageløsning, Nævnenes Hus, Toldboden 2, DK-8800 Viborg.
To make a complaint the items that you wish to complain about must have a value of minimum 1.110 DKK (app. 150 Euro) and maximum 100.000 DKK (app. 13.350 Euro). Complaints about clothes or shoes must have a value of minimum 720 DKK (app. 100 Euro). Amount limits may be subject to change. You must pay a fee to the Complaints Portal to have your complaint processed. If you reside outside of Denmark, you can submit a complaint through the EU Commission's online complaint portal here – http://ec.europa.eu/odr
Force majeure
M-KAE are not responsible for delays or failure to meet our obligations in relation to the Terms and Conditions if the delay or the non-compliance is due to events beyond our control (force majeure). For as long as a force majeure situation persists, M-KAE are relieved from performance of their obligations.
We are not liable to you if, after the placing of your order, circumstances arise which prevent or delay our delivery of the order. Such circumstances include external circumstances beyond human control; war, mobilization, telecommunications/customer infrastructure breakdown, external security incidents (e.g. hacker attacks, computer virus attacks, or destructive behavior by a third party), natural disasters as well as natural conditions making it impossible to process your order, strikes, lockouts, fire, blockades, vandalism, orders by public authorities and/or rights holders, outbreaks of epidemics or pandemics, global health emergencies, and other circumstances beyond our direct control.
Liability
M-KAE’S liability for any and all claims, including damages, is in any circumstances, except in case of force majeure, unlawful intent or gross negligence, limited to an amount equal to the price of the item purchased by the customer relating to the dispute. The aforesaid monetary limitation applies regardless of the basis hereof and includes claims based on acts of negligence, strict liability, breach of warranties, penalties, liquidated damages, and/or punitive damages.
M-KAE assumes product liability towards consumers in accordance with applicable law without any limitations.
